Go See Do

Hello and welcome!

I guess we can official say that the summer holiday is over, at least in this blog and for this lady. And what a fantastic summer it has been. The weather have been very good for indoors activities :-) so I have been attending a fantastic calligraphy and bookbinding class (think I might have to make a separate post from that) My son who is studying in England has been home for the months, but is now back in England to start on his second year at Falmouth university. We've been on two trips. Warszawa and Amsterdam. And yes there where some art related activities as inspiration and shopping. In my Instagram feed you will se lots of pictures from these trips and other inspiring things I've done this summer.

The first part of this year me and my husband have been busy with refurbishing and moving around in the house, but now we are settled in to the first floor, while he will be continuing working on the second and third floor later this year. Right now we are doing the garden. We have lots of work ahead of us, but it is an ongoing process that we both can live with. I'm full time working from my studio at home with paintings, designing and sewing. And all my free time I'm now using on scrapbooking, mixedmedia and art journals. Did I say I love my life :-)

Other happy things I would like to mention is my new DT job with Andrine og Marens landhandleri. I've been with the company before and I am trilled to be back and can't wait to get started.

As a warm up after the summer I've made this page, using my favourite photo from our trip to Warszawa. 7dots paper for the base and EP paper for the two stripes.

I've found the sketch I've used at Stuck?! sketches. I miss working with sketches like we did at the Skissedilla blog, so this was great fun. I like to use sketches as an inspiration, but do tend to stretch them a bit, while working on the page. For me that is what sketches a for, pure inspiration.

I found the isnpiration for the theme to my layout at Scrap around the world, their mood board is all about holiday and calm earth colours. Thank you for looking and have a fun and creative week.

ATC swap juni

Her er bidraget mitt til en ATC Swap jeg og noen av mine kreative venner hadde i juni. Tema var fritt men teknikk var mixedmedia. Da ble det disse damene som igjen var inspirasjonen til kortene jeg laget tidligere.

It’s all about architecture!

Hi there. I'm soon off for a week on vacation with my two favourite persons on earth, but before we leave I want to share a small projects I've been working on the last two days.

One of my favourite shop for buying mixedmedia supplies on the net is  The Mixed Media Place The Design team host a creative gym every month. This month it is all about architecture. This my take on the exercise. I bought two houses made out of cork and used various material and mediums to create the texture and colours. Prima crackle paste white. Liquitex super heavy gel, Liquitex heavy white gesso, various Ecoline colors and Glimmer mist sprays. Found objects in my boxes of treasure. Wishing you all a creative and fun weekend.

My creative backpacker trip to Denmark

Two weeks ago I attended a weekend class with Bettina Holst i Denmark. I took the class cause I obvious love her style and also to make the transition from small canvases and Art Journal book to big canvases easier in some way. On the Friday I arrived early in Copenhagen and spent the day with my niece Miranda. She's just finished her Master of Arts in Design at KADK so you can only imagine how proud I am. This is some of her work that will be shown at the graduation exhibition that will be open until August 16. The adresse is Danneskiold-Samsøes Alle 51, 1436 København

Here we are having fun in one of Copenhagen's many fashion shops

Copenhagen is full of inspiration

This is how I was travelling, backpacker and with public transport. Here I am on the train, on my way to Haslev and Bettina Holst

Some pictures from the paint class

I managed to finished 1 small picture at the class, the other 4 that is slightly bigger, need a lot more work done to it.

Some inspiration picture from the studio and check out the fantastic wall in the bedroom where I was sleeping. Handmade by Bettina.

Thank you Bettina and all the girls who was attending the class, I had great fun and got a lot of inspiration with me back to Norway.

Jeg er stor nå!

En av sidene jeg laget på Art Journal kurset jeg holdt i Egersund denne uken.

Utrolig kjekt å ha 8 kreative damer rundt bordet.

I have you

Hi and welcome to my blog. Today I want to share a layout I made today with yummy papers from 7 dots studio and embellishment from my Studio Calico kit box. The funky heart is cut out with a Sizzix die and the covered with clear embossing powder. I cut the pink Trust me paper with an edge punch and then stitch it to the background paper Love is in the Air.
Now I'm soon of to Denmark for a weekend full of creative fun. Wishing you all a fantastic weekend and hopeful the summer will arrive soon here in Norway.

I'm entering this page to this months Scrap Around the world challenge using the colours in the moodboard as my inspiration.

3 Mixedmedia cards!

Hi there, today I want to show you 3 mixedmedia cards I 've made for 3 creative friends. First I made the background for all 3 on one piece of scrap paper. I've used vintage bookpaper, gel medium and some scrap tissue paper with a stamped image on. I then added some gesso through a TH mask. When the background was dry I added some Ecoline colours. The stampotique stamps are printed on bookpaper and cut out. The dresses are scrap acrylic skins from a canvas project I did last month. To add texture to the ground I added some papertowel used to dry the paint on the background. Finally I've used some MT washi tape for the legs/arms.

The fun of ATC

Some of my friends and I are having an ATC swap every month and this is my ATC's for May. The theme where Ocean and I made a blowfish stamp I used on my ATC.
Here is the sketch inspired by the ATC theme Ocean.

Here I am carving the stamp with test prints in-between the carving.

Some of the layers on the background. Gesso and paint. I also had a layer with embossing, using a handmade stencil with fishes.

Here is my ATC. The fish got the name Marinus = of the sea.
Wishing you a creative weekend. I will be busy sewing and making books.
